It's a good thing it was extra clumping
Well, at the risk of humiliating and embarrasing myself, I figure you all could use a good laugh.

This morning, I decided to clean out the cats' litter box before heading out. After it's done I just left it by the front door with the intention of taking it out an hour or so later when i was heading out. I also had another box of garbage to carry down the stairs to throw out. So, I'm on my way to the hairdressers, purse over my arm, garbage bag in one hand, garbage box in the ohter. Cat litter is heavy. I end up dropping it, and dragging it on a few of the steps. Well before I know it, the bag has actually ripped, leaving a lovely trail of cat litter down the stairs. Crap (literally). So I run back upstairs, grab a broom and start sweeping up as much as i can.... it's a good thing we use extra clumping. And to make matters worse, in the midst of cleaning up, some of our neighbours came home. We just exchanged hellos in the hallway... no questions, no explanations. I cleaned up in a hurry so i didn't miss the bus. When i came back, I tried to use the dust buster to get some of the leftover, okay, a considerable amount of the left over gravel. The dustbuster is out of batteries. I'll finish cleaning it up later.

Cell Phone Caper
I still don't have my cell phone back. I'm lost without it. I want to call it to check for voicemail, but i don't know if someone switched it off or not. That's too bad....I don't want to anger those RCMP officers.... i did tell you that's where i lost it, right? in the back of the cruiser. It was at the station, but may have been picked up by a friend of mine by now. I should be getting it on Friday... hopefully, oh, I hope so.

Escorted to a slumber party by the RCMP
Well, it hit, just as bad as we thought. Storm number 3 of the past week. I got a call to go to work yesterday at 3, then it was decided that Sandie would stay on because she wasn't able to get home. She called at 7:30 to ask if I could come in since she had a ride... no problem i said. There was somone who was sure they could come in for 11, so i was just going to fill in for a couple of hourse. Off i went. As I'm bundled up and just heading out the door, Sandie calls my cell to say she found me a ride. I must admit i'm shocked.... The RCMP are coming to get me!
So a few minutes later, i arrive to work, safe and sound, warm and dry.

At work, i"m getting ready to head out at midnight... no one made it in for 11 after all, but they tell me i can go and Liz will cover both departments. One catch-- i'm not allowed to walk home in a blizzard at midnight (all of the Nurses took on the mom role and told me to stay). So before i knew it I had some OR scrubs as Pjs, a bed on a nursing unit, a warm blanket and a pager which someone was going to page to wake me up since I couldn't find my cell phone.

The floor where i slept was closed, so that also made it kind of creepy. I kept hearing footsteps and people going by. after a somewhat sleepless night it was time to get up and start the day again.

I went to Emerg to use the shower there, since the basement ones are kind of secluded and therefore not ideal. Helped Liz out with a couple of things and off i went to Health Records. I spent the day playing double agent-- back and forth between the two places. At 3:10, a very adamant co-worker came in to relieve me (adamant that it was her overtime shift to work and not mine, i wanted to do half of it.)

So here i am, back at home. Megan is out sledding, i was going to go by, but decided just to go home instead. Thinking of napping, thinking of homework, thinking of a shower. for now, i'll sit and eagerly await my next adventure.

Baby-- it's cold outside!
So here i am sitting in my living room while blizzard number 3 of the past week occurs outside of the windows. It's chilly in my living room, i think i'll get up and turn the heat on. I'm half expecting to get called in to work, although, i'm really hoping I don't have to go. Really Hoping. I just want to stay home and watch movies and hang out with Megan before she says goodbye to the winter of Halifax and trades it for the sunny days of Brazil. Until then, i geuss we're all just gonna have to bundle up and enjoy the snow. Now i really wish i had got some snowshoes.

Winter Wonderland
So for some silly reason not too long ago, i had the theory that winter was going to miss Nova Scotia this year. I don't know why or how i came up with this. In any event, it hasn't missed us at all. Last Sunday we had a storm that closed everything on Monday. This past Thursday we had a storm in the middle of the day, which closed everything then. Word on the street is Halifax is gearing up for storm number 3 of the week... another 30 cm of snow.... 100 km/h winds. Welcome to Halifax. Welcome to winter in Canada :)

You have to be blasé about something, she said, or you'll die from overexcitement.
I stumbled up0n this today from Storypeople.... i really like it.
I'm feeling pretty blase these days.... it's just winter stress... i think i'll just wait for it to pass.

Chaos and Anarchy
I think i live in controlled chaos. Although, if it is controlled, is it chaos?

Happy New You!
Happy new Year.... Happy new you!
It's new years, the time of the year when change and self promises of what we percieve will make our self more likable and happier seems just a little less daunting.... a little more Feasible!
So to that I say Happy New You!

On a side note, I've been blogging for one full year. I just reread all of last january. I think now i setlle in with a cup of tea and ease myself in to Februrary.
