A life less ordinary
I have a fabulous circle of friends. Yep I do. That's what I realized this week. Christmas was great. I had to work Christmas so I wasn't going home. I had Christmas eve with Gregg and his family. We went to Church then we went home to play cards and eat sundaes. Gregg then took me to work (and tried about 3 or 4 Tim's to see if they were open-- they weren't). Work was a good shift. There were even presents for us from Santa! On Christmas day, when i got up i made a casserole and then Marti came and picked me up. I had a very tasty Christmas Dinner with Marit and her roommate Ana. After dinner we played cards and then Marti took me to work. The next day I had to be back at work for the 3-11 after getting off at 7 that morning. Went back to work, there was no one scheduled to come in after me so i was worried because I would normally have to stay. I called someone who was marked off on the schedule becuase no one else could come to work... so after a bit of begging and me explaining the situation Sylvie came in to save the day. I was scheduled to fly to Toronto the next morning at 11:00 am... working to 7 would have sucked. I was lucky, Sylvie came to work so i didn't have to stay...then the blizzard.

It was snowing when I left work. It was snowing when i went to bed. We knew the degree of severity of the storm. I knew i was going no where. Sure enough, the next day, no flights were going in or out of Halifax.

So there was nothing to do but wait. I went to Marti and Ana's . It was the expected adventure of trying to dig out Marti's cab. Good times indeed. So sore the next day from pushing cars in the snow.... don't worry, I'm STRONG, Like Bull!
Anyhoo, i started this post days ago, and with the kurfuffle when i finally got home, never got to finish. It's done. Like dinner. True Story.

Most adventurous Christmas to date!
I'm Snowed in in Halifax. There are many funny stories to be told, but for now, i'm going to leave you waiting. Anyone who expected me to arrive in Ontario yesterday, I expected me to arrive too. I'm going to camp out at the airport and then see if i can get on a flight... wish me luck.

Confessions of This Shop-a-holic!
So today was a fun adventure.... Megan and I decided to drive to Moncton to go shopping.... why? Two words: OLD NAVY :)
So we left the city this afternoon, armed with only 3/4 a tank of gas, an unerring sense of adventure and a lacking sense of direction (or even a map, for that matter). *** Flashback: Rotary? where do i find the rotary?****
We arrived at the Champlain mall first... Holy Mall Batman! It was fantastic.... I think i was born to shop, to feed the vicious cycle of consummerism.... I'm sorry. I know, i used to have politics, but now i've been sucked in to the world of accumlating material possessions. I got some nice Christmas gifts for people though, although, I'm still not done. I got some nice Chirstmas gifts for me too. I even bought a fun pair of PJs to wear to work on Christmas, they're yellow with Christmas trees and a green top with snowflakes. I'd tell you what else i got, but that might ruin some surprises.
Anyhoo, so we had a great time... driving, singing, shopping, eating, driving, singing. Good times indeed!

post-writer's block
so in the humour category, that last entry actually had more to it. But when i went to published, the computer crashed and for some reason the rest of the entry got lost in cyber space. But when i went to check it, i thought the title said it all... so i just left it. here's the recap on what was supposed to be there. There was a commentary about trying to write a paper and the little cursor staring at you, blinking impatiently. I'm tired of waiting, it says. Your fingers are capable, make them type. But instead, you sit, starting at the blank screen. Waiting for an idea worthy enough to document. As you think, the cursor just stares back, impatiently... waiting and waiting to move. as you sit there waiting and waiting to write.

Coburg Coffee House
That's where I am right now. Yeah for wireless internet at the Coburg. FYI, i just read in The Coast that The Coburg Coffee House is now to be known as Coburg Coffee.... big change, i hope people will catch on to the new name. Doesn't matter anyways, us semi regulars just call it "The Coburg". And they still have the greatest Vanilla hazlenut coffee... except i had to use cream in it this time. I'm not a fan of cream, i like milk in my coffee.
HEy, speaking of coffee, did anyone else notice that Tim's raised their prices again? I'm going to have to find a cheaper addiction, of course though, all this is still cheaper than smoking. And probably not as bad for me.
So I'm in the process of trying to convince someone to blog more often. That's why I'm blogging more often.
On another note, I think I got the sign i needed to tell me if I should be heading out to Alberta next year. Survey says, there are more important things happening around here, and I should hang out in Halifax for at least one more year. More details on that to follow.
Well, i'm supposed to be working on a paper. Emphasis on the supposed to be.
Later gators!

Holiday cheer
So tonight was my work Christmas party. i had a good time. It's kind of funny because it feels to early to be Christmas stuff... but i geuss it is now officially December and it's about time i got in to it. the party was out at Hatfield farms. We took a horse drawn wagon ride out, too bad we didn't get to actually ride the horses. They had a mechanical bull, which they tried to get me on, but NO WAY JOSE. So we ate, we drank (some more than others), and we partied. Good times, i"m actually glad I went. The unfortunate thing is, homework. It's haunting me in the back of my head. Good thing I didn't let that get in my way all day. ha ha, off to bed now... Goodnight.

deception
Adam just pointed out that my Blog was in the wrong time zone. OOPS, but i just changed the settings to Halifax, and the time at the bottom of this is still an hour in advance. I'll look in to it. Sorry to have decieved you all.
